British beverage brand Protein Water Co has launched its Skin Maintenance range: a line of collagen water designed to support healthy hair, skin, nails, joints as well as improve sleep and metabolism.
Protein Water Co said it is developing the protein trend, which has historically been focused on supporting fitness and athletic performance, by harnessing its use for beauty benefits.
The line is available in apple and strawberry, and purple grape, and follows on from Protein Water Co’s Muscle Maintenance range, which launched last August.
Each 500ml bottle of Skin Maintenance is said to combine 10g of hydrolysed collagen protein with spring water, “delivering a clear, crisp and refreshing taste with absolutely no nasties”. The beverage has zero added sugar and no artificial sweeteners, flavours, colours or preservatives.
Protein Water Co hopes the range will appeal to shoppers wanting a quick and easy all-natural collagen protein product to boost their skin, hair and nails, as well as mainstream consumers looking to harness the health, beauty and lifestyle benefits of collagen.
In a statement, Protein Water Co said: “Collagen is a protein that gives the skin strength and elasticity as well as replacing dead skin cells and keeping joints and tendons healthy. Lifestyle choices, like a high-sugar diet, and natural ageing can deplete levels of collagen, which can lead to sagginess, dullness, dryness and loss of youthful plumpness in the skin. Collagen helps to reverse this damage.”

The beverages are available in independent UK retailers with a recommended retail price of £2.50 per bottle.
