Quaker has launched two new breakfast products containing a mix of grains such as oats, barley and rye.
New Quaker SuperGrains instant hot cereal and Quaker Real Medleys SuperGrains granola are designed to appeal to an increasing number of consumers who are looking to increase both the quantity and variety of the grains that they consume.
The instant hot cereal features a blend of oats, barley, rye, flax and quinoa in a convenient pouch. Available in honey-almond and apple-cinnamon flavours, each serving contains 7g of protein from a blend of grains, whey and seeds; 5g of fibre with between 3-4g and 5g of fat per serving, depending on the variety; and a source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) omega-3 from flax equivalent to 10% of the daily recommended intake of ALA.
Meanwhile, each bowl of Quaker Real Medleys SuperGrains Granola contains a mixture of supergrains and seeds, along with sweet fruit pieces and crunchy nuts. With oats, wheat, flaxseed, quinoa, sunflower seeds, amaranth and barley in every bag, the new line can be served with milk or used as a topping for yogurt and delivers 28g of whole grains and 8g of fat per serving. The new line is available in two flavours: blueberry pecan; and cinnamon, apple and walnut.
Quaker Foods North America senior marketing director Lesley Butler said: “We’re committed to uncovering the power of the whole grain oat to help fuel the busy lives of families, while at the same time offering delicious varieties. That’s why we’re excited to introduce these new SuperGrains products with even more grain variety, tastes and textures.”
The two new product ranges will be available at grocery stores across the US with recommended retail prices of $4.19 and $3.99 respectively.
