US ginger beer maker Reed’s has released a ready-to-drink ginger mule, marking its first foray into the alcoholic beverages category.
The brand created the Zero Sugar Classic Mule in partnership with Oregon craft brewer, Full Sail Brewing Co., as a sugar-free, keto-friendly take on the classic cocktail.
With an ABV of 7%, the canned cocktail has a ‘light-spice flavour profile’ and is made with fresh ginger. It is also said to be free from artificial colours, gluten, GMOs and caffeine.
“At Reed’s we’re dedicated to bringing the real ginger experience to consumers nationwide, and the launch of our Zero Sugar Classic Mule is the next step in providing an all-natural, handcrafted ginger beverage for adults seeking classic alternative beverages,” said Reed’s CEO, Norman Snyder.
“Our signature Reed’s Ginger Beer mixes perfectly for a flavourful mule, and now we’re making it easier than ever to enjoy the refreshing cocktail combination in a convenient format that contains only real, quality ingredients.”
Cory Comstock, CEO of Full Sail, added: “We’re always innovating new ways to deliver an on-trend cocktail in a can, and our partnership with Reed’s was the natural fit to deliver a ginger-packed Moscow Mule experience that taps into consumers’ heightened interest for on-the-go and sugar-free offerings.”
Reed’s Zero Sugar Classic Mule is available, for $10.99 per four-pack, from retailers nationwide in the US.
Earlier this year, Reed’s unveiled Real Ginger Ale, an ‘all-natural’ ginger ale made with fresh ginger.
