Remeo has introduced a new Sicilian pistachio variety to its existing range of “highly refined” Italian artisan gelato.
The new flavour is the fifth in the current range, which also includes caffé espresso, bourbon vanilla, 72% cocoa chocolate and Italian strawberry. Available in 500ml jars with a recommended retail price of £6.90, the gelato combines fresh pasteurised milk from northern Italy with pistachios grown on the island of Sicily, where they acquire their emerald green colour and “intense, resinous and full fragrance”.
“Remeo Pistacchio Siciliano is topped with a layer of crushed pistachios that add a hint of crunchiness to the delicate texture of the Gelato and is now available in all our retailers,” the London-based company said.
With a name derived from the Lation for “I return” and made freshly in Italy, Remeo describes itself as “the first artisanal gelato in a jar”.
