Italian manufacturing equipment provider Sacmi has launched its new IPS 400 injection moulding machine.
The IPS 400 preform press features several new design features, including automated preform unloading system and innovative plasticising unit. Equipped with a 96-cavity mould capable of making 11-gram preforms in just 6.2 seconds, the new technology leads to “high reliability, high performance and user-friendliness,” the company said.
The equipment was showcased to specialist press and Sacmi’s Italian partners at its facility in Imola, 20 miles southeast of Bologna.
A Sacmi spokesperson said: “A decisive step in a long-term injection preform moulding technology development project, the market launch of the new IPS 400 has let Sacmi complete its product range and assume the role of ‘key partner’ for both bottlers and preform-making converters.”
