Soffle’s has launched a new brand of flavoured pitta chips in Waitrose stores across the UK, giving consumers an all-natural snacking option with a uniquely fresh taste and low-fat crunch.
Soffle’s are made using fresh ingredients mixed into the dough followed by oven-roasting with olive oil, rapeseed oil, salt and pepper. They are available in spring onion and Italian cheese flavour, as well as rosemary and thyme, with a recommended retail price of £1 for a classic 60g format or £0.60 for a mini 25g bag.
And the brand will launch 165g sharing bags in Waitrose this month with a recommended retail price of £2.09 per pack.
The brand is the brainchild of Sophie Harvey, who began making pitta chips at home in Hackney, London for friends and loved ones. In the early days, Harvey made the chips in a renovated shed and used a bicycle to deliver the snacks to consumers on the streets of London.
But, as its production has been slowly increasing ever since, the brand has now secured a milestone listing with Waitrose that will allow for even further growth.
“From hand-cutting every pitta and hand-sealing each individual bag, then delivering by bike, it’s unbelievable that I will see the chips going into Waitrose,” said Soffle’s founder Harvey.
