In January, coffee lovers across the country were invited to submit new and uniquely Canadian names for Starbucks Blonde Veranda Blend. After more than 60,000 contest submissions and nearly 25,000 votes, Canadians crowned the blend Starbucks True North Blend – the winning name and essay submission entered by Robert Jack from Toronto.
“Canada has always had its own distinct Starbucks identity and we’re honoured to pay tribute to our customers with the new Starbucks True North Blend,” said Kevin Reid, director, beverages, Starbucks Canada. “Since we launched Starbucks Blonde Roast more than a year ago, Canadians have embraced Starbucks lighter roast coffee. We hope to introduce more Canadians to our lighter, smoother side with a blend that is truly their own.”
Sporting a new name, Starbucks True North Blend Blonde Roast also has new packaging design. A collaboration between Starbucks Canada and Starbucks global studio designers in Seattle, the new packaging reflects the rich Canadian landscapes.
Officially launching in time for Canada Day, Starbucks True North Blend will be available in brewed coffee every day and 1lb packages of whole bean coffee in stores and online.
