The Lakes Distillery has expanded its portfolio with the addition of a Pink Grapefruit Gin, as it responds to the growth in popularity of flavoured gins among consumers.
The Lakes’ new ‘beautifully balanced’ gin combines juniper-rich flavours with zesty pink grapefruit and reportedly contains no added sugar or sweeteners.
According to UK-based spirits brand, its latest release is made using water drawn from the Lake District National Park and is distilled in a traditional copper pot.
Dhavall Gandhi, the whiskymaker behind the The Lakes’ new gin, said: “Inspired by my favourite Lakes G&T serve – which is garnished with a slice of pink grapefruit – we set out to make a new expression that will stand the test of time alongside our classic Lakes Gin.
“Following the philosophy of less is more, we explored different garnishes until we discovered the one which perfectly complements the balanced flavour profile of our juniper-forward gin.
“Ensuring we didn’t overpower the true nature of The Lakes Gin, we chose to enhance the vibrant notes of juniper and coriander with the naturally sweet, uplifting citrus flavour of pink grapefruit, making a lively new addition to our range that simply needs plenty of ice and tonic water to serve.”
The gin is available as of today (9 April 2020) for an RRP of £33 per 70cl bottle from The Lakes Distillery’s website.
The Lakes recently secured a £4.25 million investment from Comhar Capital, supporting its aim of tripling its annual production capacity.
