A typical waste treatment facility conveyor chain possesses a short lifespan due to the intense nature of the environment it operates in. These chains need to survive regular use and shock loading, as well as corrosive materials such as dry ash, molten slag, acid and alkali, and are only capable of operating for a matter of months before requiring replacement.
Tsubakimoto’s new chains, however, are said to offer a much higher operational life than traditional chain applications in these facilities.
Built individually for separate functions, Tsubakimoto’s conveyor chains are optimised for specific use and have been shown to lead to considerably extended operational well-being.
Derek Mack, sales director for Tsubaki UK, said: “We understand that many of the processes involved in the waste treatment industry present unique challenges, and we see it as our job to offer long-lasting solutions that offer economical benefits in terms of reduced maintenance and repair costs, as well as environmental benefits in terms of reduced replacement requirements.”
