The Wensleydale Creamery, makers of the famous Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese, has added a festive touch to its packaging for the key Christmas sales period.
The creamery, based in Hawes in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, has added seasonal holly, red ribbon and a “Christmas sparkle” effect to the packaging of its 320g and 200g Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese. The seasonal packaging, in stores from mid-November, also includes serving suggestions on the back of pack to highlight the versatility of the cheese and encourage wider usage during the festive period.
Seasonal blended cheeses from the company this year include the Winter Warmer, which combines Wensleydale with cranberries and festive spices; Mince Pie, with Wensleydale, mixed fruit, biscuit crumble, cognac and spices; and Wensleydale with orange and champagne.
Wensleydale Creamery managing director David Hartley said: “Whilst we see a large uplift at Christmas, we want to give our consumers extra ideas and inspiration for how to use and enjoy our special cheese.
“Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese is a firm family Christmas favourite and, along with our range of blended and premium cheeses, is the perfect addition to any festive cheeseboard, recipe, Christmas gift, and not forgetting the great tradition of eating it with Christmas cake. By investing in our winter packaging, we expect to further boost sales of our handcrafted cheeses, perfect for any occasion, this Christmas time.”
