Whole Earth, the natural and organic food brand owned by Wessanen UK, has expanded its spreads portfolio with a chocolate and hazelnut peanut butter.
The new spread offers a ‘heavenly’ combination of cocoa and hazelnuts giving people a healthier alternative to traditional chocolate spreads.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans, the spread is made without any refined sugar and is instead sweetened with dates. According to the company, its limited-edition product has 80% less sugar than the standard chocolate spread.
Whole Earth said the new addition is a good source of protein and fibre, offering the “perfect nutritional alternative for those wanting to lead a healthy lifestyle without compromising on indulgence”.
The chocolate and hazelnut peanut butter expands Whole Earth’s current line of nut butters that includes smooth, crunchy and organic varieties and flavours such as dark roasted peanut butter.
Released in time for Pancake Day, Whole Earth’s peanut butter with chocolate and hazelnut can be enjoyed on pancakes, in porridge or in a smoothie.
Kirstie Hawkins, Whole Earth brand controller, said: “We’re delighted to be launching this new healthier chocolate spread. It offers people the best of both worlds; the nutritional goodness of peanut butter married with the delicious taste of chocolate and hazelnuts. It’s the perfect topping for pancakes.”
Available from Tesco, Whole Earth Chocolate & Hazelnut Smooth Peanut Butter is retailing at £4 per 340g jar.
