UK dairy company Yeo Valley has launched a duo of sweet crème fraîche varieties, which it says offers a healthier alternative to double cream.
Launching ahead of Christmas in the UK, the range comes in two flavours: salted caramel and vanilla.
Made with British organic milk, Yeo Valley claims its alternative to double cream has only 15% fat compared to 50%.
Yeo Valley says its new sweet flavoured crème fraîche adds extra indulgence to desserts or home baking. While the salted caramel variety is described as going well with mince pies or brownies, the vanilla flavour can be served with fresh strawberries and meringue for a lighter version of Eton mess.
Each pot of the crème fraîche is made with 100% recycled plastic and card and is 100% recyclable. By next year, the company says its entire yogurt range will be made from 100% rPET.
Yeo Valley Organic’s crème fraîche is available to buy for an RRP of £1.40 (and £1 while on promotion) in Sainsbury’s stores nationwide.
