In Australia, Yoplait has launched a Greek yogurt with fruit called Bon Appetit, which it has described as a “naturally no-fat and naturally high-protein snack”.
The Lion Dairy-owned brand said that market research showed that “almost 90% of Australians would like to snack healthier, but prefer the taste of unhealthy snacks”.
“Australians are increasingly mindful of what they’re eating, but they’re also not willing to give up on taste,” said Yoplait marketing manager Emily Spicer-Stuart. “We found that almost 80% of Australians feel guilty after eating an unhealthy afternoon snack, and we don’t want it to be this way.
“We’ve helped out with the tasty versus healthy battle so Australians can enjoy a delicious snack that’s only 110 calories, without the guilt,” she said.
Author, journalist and mum Zoë Foster Blake is working with Yoplait as an ambassador to help launch the product. “Like all people, I crave a good afternoon snack to get me through the slump,” Foster Blake said. “It can be tricky to find a snack that tastes good and is actually nutritious. And ideally is convenient too,” she said.
The slogan for the product’s advertising is “deliciously French, naturally Greek!” See the advert below:
