US-based start-up ReGrained has released its first range of snack bars, which are made from unwanted grains from the beer brewing process.
The brand refines the excess grain from the brewing process into a flour called ‘SuperGrain+’, which the company uses to produce its superfood bars.
Supergrain+ flour can be also be used as a vegan protein ingredient in other applications, but this is the first time the brand has utilised the product to produce a snack bar.
SuperGrain+ bars will be available in three flavours: Honey Cinnamon IPA, Chocolate Coffee Stout, and Blueberry Sunflower Saison.
Each bar contains 4g of fibre, 4g of protein, 8g of sugar and 160 calories per serving. Every bar in the range is also non-GMO, and they are made from solely organic ingredients.
ReGrained has also created a fully-compostable wrapper for the snack bar, which it has developed as part of its ‘no-waste’ ethos.
The range is available from selected retailers across the US, and is also available directly from Regrained’s website.
