Functional ingredients and fats supplier AAK has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Food Specialities Limited (FSL), which will expand AAK’s presence in the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.
United Arab Emirates-based FSL is one of the leading distributors of food and beverage products to countries in the GCC such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar; and the agreement will allow AAK to utilise FSL’s extensive distribution network in the region.
AAK claims that FSL’s complementary ingredients portfolio and its expertise in the manufacturing, retail, and hospitality industries will allow AAK to strengthen its position in the region.
AAK’s team in Turkey and the Middle East, will continue to lead the company’s sales operations from its sites in Istanbul and Dubai.

The agreement comes a week after AAK announced that it would attempt to fuel growth in Asia by investing in a new customisation plant in the Philippines.
