Unsweet water brand Ugly will launch its range of naturally infused waters into the UK market this month.
The drinks are available in lemon and ginger, cucumber and mint, raspberry and lime, and blackberry flavours – all 100% natural without sugar, sweeteners, artificial flavours or preservatives. Packaged in 500ml bottles, each product has a recommended retail price of £1.29. The brand has secured initial listings with Selfridges, from where it will be available this week, and has plans to extend to other key London retailers later.
Ugly co-founder Joe Benn said: “We believe that the drinks market is saturated with products that over promise and under deliver. With Ugly water our aim is to keep it simple and pioneer a new ‘unsweet’ category in the drinks market. Ugly water doesn’t promise to make you faster, smarter or more beautiful but it’s all-natural and tastes great.
“With the explosion of healthy eating and increased consumer awareness of the effects of sugar and sweeteners, we believe there is a huge gap in the market for a drink that’s completely transparent, with nothing hidden. Ugly water aims to be ‘beautifully different’ and we’ve been thrilled by the response from the industry to date.”
