It takes an average of 50 licks to finish off a scoop of ice cream, and 12lbs of milk to produce a single gallon of ice cream, according to a new infographic produced by an Irish supplier of ice cream vans.
According to the infographic, the three Scandinavian countries are all among the five largest consumers of ice cream worldwide – with Norway consuming most, despite having the smallest population. It is beaten only by Australia and the US.
The infographic has been produced by Irish ice cream van supplier Smith’s Ice Cream.
“This infographic covers interesting facts such as how ice cream is made, which countries consume the most ice cream, the most popular flavours, the strangest flavours, the most popular toppings and how many licks on average it takes to finish off a delicious ice cream cone,” summarised David Jones, marketing manager of Smith’s Ice Cream.
