Russian company Ariant has launched a duo of table wines inspired by the Mediterranean.
Sole del Sud is available in semi-sweet white and red varieties, with a wraparound shrink wrap design that will increase the bottles’ standout on retail shelves.
The design, from Ekaterinburg-based agency Pride, features an illustrative harbour scene in front of pastel shades of traditional Mediterranean architecture. There are two versions – day and dusk versions – to indicate the difference between white and red.
Pride was tasked with developing a design for the bottle that could create an impression that the wine had been imported from somewhere more exotic, evoking memories among consumers of holidays spent abroad.
The designs tap into a region with ‘a rich wine culture’ and perceptions of a ‘respectable image’, Pride added.
