The only two over $1,000m in March were in the supply chain: Switzerland’s Glencore buying Canada’s Viterra in ingredients for $6,100m, and the US Dart purchasing Solo Cup in packaging for $1,000m.
Of the 39, packaging accounted for nine, ingredients seven and equipment three, with dairy on five, water coolers three, other beverages four, other food six and confectionery two.
The US was involved in 19, with Australia, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the UK contributing to four apiece.
