Abbott has expanded its Ensure range of health drinks by introducing a new high-protein and low-sugar drink for the US market.
Aimed predominantly at adult consumers who are not getting enough protein in their diet, each 330ml Ensure Max Protein carton contains 30g of protein, 1g of sugar and 150 calories.
Ensure Max Protein is available in two flavours: milk chocolate and café mocha, both of which contain 22 vitamins and minerals including vitamins C, D and E.
Additionally, the café mocha flavour contains 100mg of caffeine derived from Colombian coffee extract, the equivalent of one cup of coffee.
Abby Sauer, MPH, RD, a registered dietitian at Abbott said: “Abbott has always been about nourishing adults and helping them live stronger, healthier lives powered by the latest advances in science.
“For Ensure, helping adults reach their health goals comes in all forms – whether managing an illness or maintaining strength and energy.
“Our newest formulation – Ensure Max Protein – delivers strength in a bottle, so adults can stay active and tackle life’s demands.”
Ensure Max Protein will be available nationwide from April from selected US retailers.
