Arla Foods has launched a range of fat-free quark, as it seeks to expand the ‘relatively unknown’ quark category in the UK.
Arla Quark was made available in Asda this week in three flavours: the plain variety is available in 500g pots, while the cherry tomato and basil and garlic and herb flavours are both available in 250g sizes.
The company called quark ‘still a relatively unknown ingredient’, with the new range intended to highlight the benefits and signpost its usage. In November, Arla will launch a range of 30-second online videos with quick, easy and healthy recipes using Arla Quark.
James Prentice, senior brand manager for Arla Foods UK’s cheese team, said: “With health and wellbeing so much on the agenda and the growing popularity of quark as a healthy ingredient to cook with, we believe Arla Quark is launching at just the right time to capitalise on this trend.
“Arla Quark is the perfect example of Arla’s commitment to provide healthy innovation from milk and the cheese team has further plans for more Arla branded cheese innovation in the future.”
