German-biscuit manufacturer Bahlsen has expanded its range of Zoo biscuits with the introduction of a new gluten and lactose-free variant, which will be available in the UK.
Bahlsen’s range of Zoo biscuits is marketed towards children, and the new Zoo Imagination biscuits have been created in the shape of fairy-tale creatures such as dragons and unicorns to appeal to this demographic.
Bahlsen has created the biscuits to capitalise on the growth of the free-from category in the country, and the biscuits are made from gluten and lactose-free ingredients such as corn and teff flour.
Julien Lacrampe, trade marketing manager of Bahlsen said: “For many parents, the free-from category has a limited offering in terms of products that taste great, are liked by their children and gives them peace of mind with a gluten-free certification.
“We’re thrilled to be able to offer a trustworthy product that fills this gap in the market, appealing to children and parents alike, and the quality that Bahlsen is known for.”
Zoo Imagination biscuits are currently available from Tesco stores in the UK with a suggested retail price of £1.79.
