The reusable, recyclable and biodegradable bottles are for everyone, from toddlers sipping pint-sized bottles to environmentally aware adults who tote water bottles wherever they go.
BioGreen Bottles are already available through Amazon, at selected cycling stores, through a large network of promotional products distributors, and will be found on major retailer shelves later this spring.
“We’ve had tremendous interest so far, from consumers glad to see the ultimate green water bottle to retail buyers looking for the next, best thing to sell to environmentally conscious customers,” said Cal Springs president, Steve Finch.
The bottles contain EcoPure, an additive created by Albuquerque-based Bio-Tec Environmental. EcoPure enables the bottles to completely break down in landfills and compost piles into biomass and biogas. The biogas can then be harvested for energy use, and the biomass nourishes the soil.
While some so-called biodegradable products are made from non-recyclable, corn-based plastics that may create environmental problems, BioGreen Bottles are made of post-industrial, low-density polyethylene and can be fully recycled in normal recycle streams, as well as biodegraded in landfills.
Finch added: “For the past 25 years, Cal Springs has been a global leader in outdoor and sports products. Offering an environmentally friendly water bottle is a natural step in the company’s growth and evolution. We’re excited to be on the forefront of the changing plastics industry, and give consumers a greener option when purchasing reusable water bottles.”
