Soft drinks manufacturer Britvic has launched a new raspberry-flavoured variety of its Lipton Ice Tea ahead of the summer period.
Available in 500ml polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles with a recommended retail price of £1.13, the new variant joins the iced tea brand’s existing peach, lemon and mango flavours.
In addition to the new flavour, Lipton has reformulated all of its drinks so that they contain 30% less sugar, leading to a reduction of 100 calories in every 500ml of liquid.
The range will also adopt a refreshed new look for its PET bottle with a more premium sleeved label, bottle shape and texture to give the product a more modern look. The brand claimed that its new raspberry variety would appeal to 18-34 year olds and follows year-on-year growth within the iced tea and coffee segment of 30.7%, to a value of £68m.
A Britvic Soft Drinks spokesperson said: “The refreshed packs aim to drive penetration by engaging with shoppers giving the brand greater stand out on-shelf, while the product presents a new twist on refreshment, delivering a fantastic opportunity for retailers to grow their sales.
“Available for retailers to pick up and order now, Lipton Raspberry Ice Tea is aimed for grown up taste buds and will drive excitement for shoppers in the UK, unlocking further sales for retailers over the summer months.”
