Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream & Desserts has opened a new manufacturing facility in Phoenix that increases production capabilities for its mochi ice cream.
With continuing demand in the US and abroad for its products, Bubbies said it needed greater production capacity and decided that a mainland location in Phoenix was the best fit. It joins the brand’s other manufacturing operation in Hawaii.
The multi-million dollar Phoenix facility will add “dozens of jobs to the region”. Phoenix is also home to a majority of Bubbies’ leadership and executive team.
The site will support the brand’s distribution network of independent and national grocery chains such as Whole Foods Market, Kroger and select Safeway locations.
Bubbies CEO Rick Schaffer said: “Not only is our new Phoenix facility state of the art, it gives us strategic distribution capacity from the mainland. Our new manufacturing facility is a game changer for us and for the industry.”
Bubbies was founded in Hawaii in 1985 by Keith Robbins. Earlier this year, it released its first range of vegan mochi ice creams in four flavours: mango, cherry, vanilla and mint.
