US-based Califia Farms has released a new line of dairy-free probiotic yogurt drinks containing the brand’s Califia Culture Blend of probiotic live cultures.
The Califia Culture Blend contains 10 billion probiotic CFUs sourced from the BB-12 bifidobacterium, and Califia Farms claims it is the first brand to ferment the BB-12 strain into a dairy-free yogurt.
Four flavours will be available in the range, including strawberry, super berry, mango and unsweetened plain, and the drinks will be available in both 25.4oz and 8oz bottles – though plain will only be available in the 25.4oz format.
Every drink in the range is non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan-friendly.
Greg Steltenpohl, CEO of Califia Farms said: “Increasingly, consumers are realising the importance of probiotics because of their enormous digestive and immune health benefits.
“Until now, there hasn’t been a non-dairy yogurt that delivers the delicious taste and creamy texture people want.
“At Califia, we’ve set the gold standard for nut milks and creamers, and were able to create an almond and coconut based yogurt drink that delivers 10 billion live, active probiotics that are truly great tasting.”
Califia Farms says the drinks will launch in the US in Spring 2018, and the suggested retail price is $2.69 for single-serve 8oz bottles and $5.49 for the 25.4oz bottles.
