“Our customers have been asking us for glass for some time now,” said Tony Kenny, president of Berg Water. “We wanted to make sure that the glass design was as unique as the product itself. With the introduction of the glass bottle, we’ll also be reducing our impact on the environment.”
The frosted 75cl glass bottle presentation, which began production at the end of May 2009, complements the existing PET bottles and is important in reflecting the image of Berg as a luxury product in more upmarket settings.
“We wanted to maintain our signature design by reinforcing our product’s image and content,” said Gabriela Medellin, VP sales & marketing. “We’re very pleased with the results.”
Berg Water is a division of 2001 Investments located in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. The company’s water is sourced from icebergs that are melted and bottled under strict quality conditions. Production can be limited and dangerous due to extended winters and the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic. They’re very unstable, shift frequently and can roll over in seconds, which makes the possibility of drinking iceberg water an accomplishment in itself.
