The first of these, the 2BK026 black ink, has been developed for the A420i and is targeted primarily at the food sector, where a heat seal application is required. The new ink is said to have ‘excellent adhesive properties to a wide range of substrates’, while its resistance to heat and pressure make it suitable for use on surfaces where heat sealing is applied post-coding, such as sachets and dry food packaging.
The 2BK030 is also a fast-dry black ink designed specifically for food applications. This ink has a high resistance to fats, edible oils, as well as heat and retort, in which high temperatures are required for steam sterilisation, therefore making it suited to challenging production environments.
The 2BK028 is a fast dry black ink designed for the aerospace industry.
