Drink Me has made its Chai Latte line of tea blends available in catering-sized packs, following the success of its retail range.
The 1kg packs are available in five flavours – original spiced, mango, peppermint, vanilla and green tea – and will each sell for £9.99. Their launch follows strong performance in the company’s retail range: in June, FoodBev reported that the brand had doubled its export value over 12 months, amid efforts to grow the product’s popularity overseas.
Drink Me Chai Latte was founded by Amanda Hamilton, who started the business from a Tuk Tuk in Lewisham, having been inspired by chai tea on her travels around India.
Hamilton said: “Chai Latte is extremely popular with young consumers. But we are now seeing a rapid growth in popularity amongst the population in general – in particular those who prefer the gentle spices of chai to the bitterness of coffee. We have experienced great success supplying cafés across the UK.
“The beauty of chai latte is that it is more than just a ‘winter warmer’. Drink Me Chai is also delicious served chilled over ice, making it a refreshing summer cooler. There are also myriad ways to add extras to Drink Me Chai Latte – syrups, whipped cream or even a shot of espresso to add a kick – we are hearing about new customer preferences all the time.”
In a nod to the country that inspired its inception, Drink Me also donates a percentage of the profits from every tub of Drink Me Chai Latte to Pratham UK, a charity that promotes literacy in India.
