Specialist beer importer Euroboozer has extended its offering after securing an exclusive five-year distribution deal to import Austria’s historic Stiegl beers.
The 500-year-old brand, once said to be a favourite of Mozart, is best known for its range of full-bodied and flavour-rich beers. Euroboozer will be kicking off the autumn and winter season with the roll out of Stiegl Weisse, a silky smooth Weisse with a subtle fruity flavour, refreshing character and delicate sparkle. The 5.1% beer is available in 25 litre kegs.
Euroboozer founder Martyn Railton said: “I am proud to have been working with Stiegl for a number of years now so I know all about the quality and history that their beers offer. They’re a big business in Austria but they really still are a family run concern with the owner often seen driving around town in a Mini Cooper.”
The history of the brewery can be traced back to Salzburg in the 1490s, and its most famous beer today is Stiegl Goldbräu, which was introduced to the UK market in 2007.
Railton continued: “The Goldbräu is such a great beer and has done so well in London over the past few years. We’ve found that bar staff and customers have a massive affinity for the brand too so when it goes on the bar of some of the best high-end places in the capital, it tends to fly and this is down to the drinking quality, stylish packaging and all-round appeal. I’m delighted and excited to be continuing the work in making them a core world beer brand in the UK market and think the Weisse will further showcase the brand’s class.”
