The company has recently acquired the exclusive rights to market and distribute the drink, branded by the football team Real Madrid CF.
The beverage is expected to heighten competition in the growing energy drink market in the UAE where, according to Euromonitor, consumers drank about 16.1 million litres of energy drinks last year – worth about $121.6m. By 2014, this is expected to grow to 29.6 million litres worth $199.8m.
The UAE is among 14 countries in which the Real Madrid Energy drinks have been introduced. The rest of the targeted countries are Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Austria, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Egypt.
