Investment in the new factory, which has a grading, washing and packhouse facility, means that Fairfields Farm Crisps can now control every aspect of the production cycle from field to bag.
The potatoes are grown on the farm, and stored in specialist potato cold stores, before being washed, graded, hand-cooked in sunflower oil and finally bagged, all on the farm in the Colne Valley.
Fairfields Farm Crisps owner Robert Strathern, said: “The new factory install has meant we can improve production output dramatically.
“The logistical advantages of having the potatoes grown, stored and cooked on our farm makes the whole process easier to control. More importantly, it enables us to provide our customers with the consistency of product and service they demand, in an increasingly competitive market place.”
