Established as Zenith International Publishing Ltd in March 2000, the company changed its name to FoodBev Media last September.
The company publishes internationally in the food and drink industry and is a partner business to global food and drink consultancy Zenith International.
“The publishing world has changed dramatically in the past decade and we have successfully kept pace with developments,” said FoodBev Media chairman, Richard Hall. “After nine years as Zenith International Publishing, we decided that having moved beyond our print origins to a broader media world, the time had come to reflect that in our name.”
“The new name stemmed from our rapidly growing online presence at FoodBev.com,” said group editorial director, Bill Bruce. “It also ties in perfectly with our recent purchase and integration of Food & Beverage International magazine. Meanwhile, the company’s successful innovation titles – Beverage Innovation, Dairy Innovation, Water Innovation and Cooler Innovation – aimed at business decision makers worldwide, continue to inform and entertain a broad international audience.
“Our global awards programmes have also drawn particular success to the company. The team recently returned from running the Gulfood Awards in Dubai. The name change coincided with the 2009 Beverage Innovation Awards at Drinktec in Munich last autumn, and this April we have the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards in Salzburg, followed by the 2010 Water Innovation Awards at Gleneagles in November.
“While many media companies are suffering in the economic downturn, we’re proud to celebrate this milestone and delighted to be publishing in a global marketplace that’s highly innovative and has plenty to celebrate. We have just taken on two new members for our sales team, who live just outside Bath: Joss Phillips, who’s expecting his first baby next month, and Mark Salen, who’s getting married this July.”
