Forest Feast, the dried fruit and nut snack manufacturer, has launched a new range of flavoured, crunchy peas.
Described as “the next generation of on-the-go snacking” and created in response to growing demand for vegetable-based snacks, the new Crunchy Coated Peas have been carefully balanced to achieve the right amount of flavour and crunch, Forest Feast said. Each product features a unique blend of spices, complementing the sweetness of the peas, and are low in calories – less than 170 per pack – as well as low-fat and protein-rich.
Launching in store across the UK this summer, there are three contemporary flavours: “sweet yet smoky” Smokin’ Barbeque for a taste of the summer grill; “bold, sharp and hot” Spicy Chilli Lime, which packs a spicy chilli heat and balanced, zesty lime flavour; plus Hot and Sour Sriracha, a “satisfyingly hot and sour snack” that combines the popular taste of sriracha sauce with red chilli and garlic.
The new Crunchy Coated Peas come in foil fresh packaging, which features a contemporary Japanese animation-inspired design. Each 40g pack will retail both online and through leading retailers with a recommended price of £0.89.
Ann Woods, product development manager for brand owner Kestrel Foods, said: “Forest Feast has a long history of creating healthier snacks that deliver on taste and Crunchy Coated Peas is an exciting new addition to our premium offering. Crunchy Coated Peas were developed with consumer insights in mind and we’re confident that they will be a big hit with people actively seeking out healthier snacking alternatives.”
