Hormel Foods has expanded its Black Label bacon product range by introducing four new bacon toppings to the US market.
Made from 100% bacon, the toppings have a “natural and tender texture” and are intended for use as an accompaniment to salads, soups, pasta dishes and other meals.
The four varieties in the range include cherrywood, pecanwood, chopped bacon and ‘bacon bits’ products.
The cherrywood and pecanwood toppings contain 40% less fat than pan-fried bacon, and are packaged in 3oz packets.
Meanwhile, the chopped and sliced bacon products are packaged in 3.5oz bags, which contain large, ready-to-eat pieces of bacon, providing a convenient solution to consumers.
Corrine Hjelmen, brand manager at Hormel Foods said: “Consumers are eating more bacon than ever and continue to use bacon as an ingredient and flavour enhancer.
“In fact, bacon in all forms is seeing its highest consumption ever. Making two of our on-trend and unique bacon flavours – cherrywood and pecanwood – available as a topping, as well as providing a fully-cooked, ready-to-eat chopped bacon, are items our consumers have been asking for, and we are happy to deliver.”
The four Hormel Foods Black Label bacon topping products are available in the salad aisle of retailers nationwide in the US.
