UK tea brand HotTea Mama has launched two new blends that are designed to naturally support the body through menopause and the challenges of periods.
Take a Pause is a green tea and herbal blend intended to support the body through the menopause transition, through from perimenopause to post menopause.
The blend is made up of natural herbs including raspberry leaf, ginseng, gingko biloba, liquorice and valerian; which HotTea Mama says have been used for millennia to support common symptoms such as irregular periods, heavy blood flow, anxiety, lack of sleep and hot flushes.
Over the Moon tea is targeted at women with premenstrual stress and tension, irregular periods and conditions linked to fertility, such as endometriosis and PCOS. The herbal infusion features raspberry leaf, chamomile flowers, gingko, spearmint, dandelion root and rose petals.
Best served hot, Over the Moon is said to help women soothe cramps, reduce bloating, improve sleep and regulate periods. Meanwhile, Take a Pause is best enjoyed iced if consumers suffer from hot flushes.
HotTea Mama was co-founded by mothers Bethan Thomas and Kate Achille. Thomas said: “I have a degree in Tea Science and, when Kate was pregnant, she would often ask me for advice on what she could drink.
“I would tap into my knowledge to recommend herbs and blends that could help her with morning sickness, or be a satisfying replacement for caffeinated drinks. This research helped me, too, when I was expecting my first child. We kept asking ourselves, why is nobody offering this kind of product? We had no answer, but we loved the concept.
“Our teas have won awards and we’re now selling over a million teabags a year. Our costumers came to us asking about PCOS, fertility, endometriosis, PMS and menopause, and we saw there was a gap in the market for a product or two that targeted these issues. We’re delighted with what we’ve created and look forward to this new journey.”
Take a Pause and Over the Moon are available online for £6 a box and join the brand’s portfolio of pregnancy and breastfeeding teas.
