IF&P Foods has acquired packaged convenience foods producer Cibus Fresh for an undisclosed sum, enhancing the company’s presence in the convenience food sector.
Cibus Fresh produces a range of grab-and-go convenience foods such as sandwiches, wraps, flatbreads, salads, snack packs and parfaits cups for grocers, and the acquisition will add 60 new food varieties to IF&P Foods’ product range.
IF&P Foods will acquire Cibus Fresh’s 11,000-square-foot kitchen facility in Indiana as a result of the deal.
The rising demand for convenient ‘grab-and-go’ food among consumers was one of the key drivers of the acquisition according to IF&P Foods, and the company claims that the acqusition will “make an immediate impact.”
Greg Corsaro, president and CEO of IF&P Foods said: “By combining Cibus Fresh’s unique approach to fresh convenient foods with our extensive expertise in produce and specialty foods distribution, we’re primed to exceed our customers’ expectations with new offerings, quality and speed of delivery.”
Kurt Layer, co-founder of Cibus Fresh added: “We’re thrilled to become a part of the IF&P Foods family.
“Having access to more resources means we can get even more creative in the design and delivery of our culinary creations.
“Together we can advance the convenience food industry in ways we could never do alone.”
