IMCD has announced that it has completed the acquisition of India-based speciality food ingredients distributor Kushalchand Sons for an undisclosed sum.
Kushalchand Sons provides a single-stop solution for all their clients’ formulation needs and has been at the forefront of the fast growing processed food industry in India. The acquisition provides a platform for the further strengthening and expansion of the activities of IMCD in the country’s food market.
Amit Hirani, who has become IMCD India’s business director, said: “IMCD and Kushalchand share a common strategy through providing the Indian food industry with a wide range of key ingredients from world leading manufacturers. This synergy will enable IMCD to further strengthen their presence on the Indian market.”
Kushalchand generated revenues of approximately €9m last year; its business will be integrated into IMCD India, with 18 employees being transferred between the two companies.
