DSM’s 3C technology has been designed to create a high-concentrate omega-3 helping to eliminate barriers associated with the consumption of omega-3 supplements.
Maria Pavlidou, head of communications human nutrition and health for DSM, told FoodBev Media: “The 3C technology allows us to create a much smaller capsule size. Traditionally for example to consume 500mg of omega-3 you would have to consume two really big capsules.
“From a usage study we conducted last year we know that a barrier for consumers to enter the omega-3 market is the capsule size, so we believe with this technology we can attract more consumers.”
