Iranian beverage manufacturer Zarin Jam Marina is preparing to launch 21 individual varieties of its SunStar beverage line in Combidome carton bottles from packaging company SIG Combibloc.
By opting for the packaging format, Marina had taken “an important step towards clear differentiation of its products on the sales shelf”, SIG Combibloc said, and would be “making a statement in the up-and-coming Middle East/Africa region”. Apart from the closure, the Combidome package is manufactured entirely from a cardboard composite – from the base to characteristic dome that gives the carton its shape.
Flavours of SunStar to be made available in Combidome carton bottles include apple, orange juice, pomegranate, pineapple, peach, grape, orange and carrot, lemonade, and tropical.
Marina owner Hazem Mizban: “Combidome meets all the requirements for modern beverage packaging today: the cardboard bottle combines all the great product features of a carton pack with the positive characteristics of a bottle. Combidome impressed us in every respect – not only through its unusual shape, but also in terms of its stability and pouring performance. In addition, it offers first-class product protection and environmental and economic benefits. This combination makes us certain that with Combidome, we’ve made the right choice.”
It is not the first time that Marina has opted for technology from SIG Combibloc: the juice manufacturer was one of the first customers in the world to use the Drinksplus technology to bring out juice drinks containing real fruit pieces in aseptic carton packs and was a pioneer in the use of SIG Combibloc’s CFA 124 high-speed filling machines for filling CombiblocMini carton packs at a rate of up to 24,000 per hour.
Mizban continued”: “Our goal is to continue growing in the beverage sector. That requires us to recognise trends early on, and have the right solutions. To do that, we need the right equipment and reliable partners. With the team, the filling technology and the packaging solutions from SIG Combibloc, we’re on the right track to achieving our goal.”
SIG Combibloc area sales manager for Iran Bamdad Ghafari added: “Iran is a market with good foundations. Investments should start to prove easier in the future, and we’re also looking forward to positive business development. In the beverage industry, willingness to invest is growing – we’re seeing that in our customers. We’re pleased that with Combidome we can give Marina a packaging solution that will move the company an important step forward.”
