Isaly’s will revive its range of premium ice cream in the US, with a line-up of six flavours available this spring.
The relaunched brand will still adhere to family tradition by sourcing high-quality ingredients, including fresh cream and the pure flavours. They will consist of Whitehouse cherry, Maricopa, vanilla, chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and chocolate chip cookie dough.
Founded in 1833 by Swiss cheese maker Christian Isaly, the brand was previously known for its bold flavour combinations like the Maricopa scoop, a mix of vanilla ice cream and butterscotch swirls; and Whitehouse cherry, with vanilla ice cream and plump maraschino cherries. As well as ice creams, the brand made a variety of other dairy products, including cheeses, deli meat and ultimately opened a self-titled chain of retail stores.
It is perhaps best known as the originator of the Klondike bar – a vanilla ice cream square coated in chocolate that is now owned by Unilever.
The relaunch will be the first time that the brand has been widely available since Isaly’s wound down its dairy operations in the 1960s.
Now owned by the proprietors of Pittsburgh-based Conroy Foods, the brand will return to grocery stores in the US at some point this year.
