James White Drinks has expanded its Zinger range of drinks with the addition of three new varieties, following the successful launch of the organic ginger Zinger shot at the end of 2015.
The UK-based producer has added turmeric juice, lime and chilli, and extra ginger flavours. Each Zinger is an intense, all-natural 7cl drink designed to “wake you up” as a healthy alternative to sugar- and caffeine-loaded drinks.
The launch of the turmeric Zinger is particularly timely, James White Drinks said, as the wonder root’s reputation as an anti-inflammatory and potential brain power boost continues to grow. It has described the turmeric juice Zinger as a first for the UK, using freshly pressed turmeric juice rather than turmeric powder, blended with pressed apple juice with lemon, pepper and chilli added for extra Zing.
After the success of the organic ginger Zinger, the company has targeted serious ginger lovers with its new Xtra Ginger Zinger, which made with 40% crushed ginger juice and blended with pressed apple juice and added chilli.
The final new addition, the lime chilli Zinger, is billed as “Mexican fieriness caught in a little bottle”, featuring an intense combination of sharp lime and hot chilli.
James White Drinks founder Lawrence Mallinson said: “Our new Zingers are little drinks with purpose, naturally healthy wake up and shake up shots and more a healthy confectionery than a refreshing drink. They’re perfect for first thing in the morning to get the day started or anytime day or night when the juices are flagging. Fans of fiery spices are in for a real treat with something new and distinctly different to try.”
Waitrose has confirmed listings for the turmeric juice Zinger and organic ginger Zinger in 220 stores, where they will sit alongside Beet It Organic shots to create maximum impact for the 7cl shots.
Each Zinger, available from late July, will feature a recommended retail price of £1.49.
In September, Claire Phoenix spoke to James White Drinks’ Dan Malloy at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair about the brand’s recently launched ginger Zinger shot – the original variant in the newly expanded range.
