UK infant formula manufacturer Kendamil has created the country’s first “ready to feed” baby milk formula that contains no palm oil or fish oil.
Kendamil contains natural cow’s milk blended with healthy essential acids, such as algal oil, a marine algae substitute for fish oil. Algal oil has high Omega-3 fatty acids like docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), which benefits the brain, heart and visual development of babies.
According to the company, the new product has a shelf-life of 12 months, compared to other brands that offer nine months.
Kendamil’s CEO and founder, Ross McMahon, said: “Parents associate Kendamil with quality and sustainability, so have long asked us to develop a ‘ready to feed’ offering”.
“We’re proud to answer this need with a UK-first — a ‘ready to feed’ baby milk that’s uniquely free from fish oil and palm oil, unlike other leading formula brands. Because we won’t compromise our formulations or jeopardise the environment to cut costs.”
Kendamil “ready to feed” baby milk formula is available from 12 October via the company’s website for £23.95 per pack of 24.
In August, Kendamil unveiled “the world’s first” ice cream made with baby formula milk.
