Kingsland Drinks has signed a deal with major UK retailer Marks and Spencer to develop its first customer brand of carbonated wine, following the installation of the drinks manufacturer’s new carbonation line last month.
Wave Break Pink Fizz will be available in store from June and answers a rise in demand for sparkling wine. The new carbonated variant is made from Californian Muscat grapes, has an ABV of 11% and joins Marks and Spencer’s existing Wave Break range of still wines.
The British retailers worked closely with Kingsland Drinks, using its unique consumer insight tool WinePro to identify an opportunity amongst “beginners” and “risk-averse youngsters” for the new line of carbonated wine.
Pink Fizz is described as “fresh, fruity” and is best served chilled.
Kingsland Drinks marketing director Neil Anderson said: “We are delighted to be working with M&S to develop a sparkling solution via our new carbonation line. Given the increasing consumer thirst for sparkling products and following positive feedback on the line, we identified the perfect opportunity to partner with the retailer and bring Wave Break Pink Fizz to market. It’s a really exciting time for the wine industry and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this activity.”
