The two met with Kraft representatives to discuss their request that the company takes out the controversial additives known as Yellow #5 and Yellow #6.
Kraft associate director Lynne Galia, one of two company officials who met for an hour with blogger Vani Hari, confirmed that she reiterated the company’s stance, which is that Kraft makes 14 varieties of Macaroni & Cheese that use either natural colours or no colours, but that the company’s original flavour has many fans and will not change.
“I said that while I can’t predict the future, as we consider new products, we’ll keep listening to our consumers,” Galia told The Charlotte Observer.
Food blogger Lisa Leake, who was not able to travel to Chicago, attended the meeting by conference call. She said that she was disappointed by the company’s lack of reaction.
“It was a little bit disappointing that she promised to take our feedback back to her team, yet she didn’t take any notes or record the meeting,” she said. “That didn’t feel very heartfelt.”
