The news comes after seven years positioned as No 1 in terms of value and is well ahead of business targets for the brand.
“The performance of Lurpak has exceeded all of our expectations and we’re ecstatic to be in a position to celebrate our new No 1 status, especially given that it’s much earlier than expected,” said Arla Foods business unit director Stuart Ibberson.
“Lurpak is a premium quality butter brand that has been targeting creative foodies since 2007 under the communication platform ‘Good Food Deserves Lurpak,” he added. “This, combined with its ongoing innovation pipeline introducing major NPD launches such as Cook’s Range, has allowed Lurpak to drive growth for the range while adding value to the overall category.”
