Vegetable accompaniments brand Mash Direct has announced the launch of a duo of new products, just in time for barbecue season.
The new potato rostis use potatoes grown on the brand’s family-run farm, shredded with onion and lightly fried for a crunchy finish. Described as a convenient and healthy addition to meals, they have a recommended retail price of £1.50 per two-pack and are available from frozen food retailer Iceland and independent food stores and food halls across the UK, Mash Direct said.
They will be joined by sweet potato croquettes, which feature fluffy sweet potato – steam-cooked to perfection – coated in a crispy, gluten-free breadcrumb. Its launch is in response to the rise of sweet potato as a new favourite vegetable, experiencing 76% year-on-year growth, and will be available from independents nationwide with a recommended retail price of £2.69 per six-count pack.
Based in Northern Ireland, Mash Direct uses heritage vegetable varieties in all of their products, chosen for their flavour and not their appearance. All of the products in the range are gluten-free and free from artificial preservatives, flavourings, colourings and are low in salt.
