Sports nutrition brand Maximuscle has released a new high-protein chocolate dipper snack pot, in homage to the classic KP Choc-Dip snack.
Just like the Choc-Dip, Maximuscle Protein Dippers contain short biscuit sticks and a milk chocolate sauce to dip them in, but Maximuscle’s high-protein version contains whey protein concentrate and 9.6g of protein per serving.
The snack is also free from added sugar, palm oil and artificial flavours or colours, and the snacks are suitable for vegetarians.
Maximuscle claims that the high-protein snack is aimed at consumers who desire healthier versions of indulgent snacks, or for consumers who want to increase protein consumption to achieve exercise goals.
Nutritionist and product development manager at Maximuscle, Gareth Nicholas, said: “KP Choc-Dips were popular in the 1980s and a great fun snack, so our Protein Dippers will hold a lot of nostalgia for many people.
“We developed it to recognise the growing trend of people wanting to be healthier even when it comes to confectionary with high protein and low sugar key considerations.
“Instead of grabbing a chocolate bar or a bag of crisps, why not swap for this next time you’re in the supermarket and get all the benefits of nearly 10g of protein in a snack full of natural ingredients.
“Importantly, the Protein Dippers taste fantastic too. This means they can be enjoyed as a healthy snack by everyone, whether it’s people wanting to lead healthier lives but still eat some chocolate or those trying to increase their protein levels for sport, fitness and other physical activities.”
Maximuscle Protein Dippers are now on sale in UK retailer Sainsbury’s, with a suggested retail price of £1.50 per snack pot.
