British craft brewer Meantime has unveiled a golden ale brewed exclusively for bar operator Mitchells and Butlers, taking its name from the two American hop varieties used as ingredients in the new brew.
4.5% ABV Delta Bravo was the result of a collaborative effort between Meantime and Mitchells and Butlers, the Greenwich-based beer maker said, to find the perfect hop varieties and beer style to match the discerning palates of their drinkers. Making use of exciting hop varieties, the brewers created a hoppy, golden Kolsch-style beer with a citrus bitterness and slight sweetness.
Delta hops give slightly spicy and delicate citrus flavours, paired with the fruity and floral aromas of the Bravo hops and combining to create a perfectly balanced beer. Meantime said the drink is “a delicious session beer to be enjoyed with a good cheeseburger, pizzas and even chicken wings”.
Meantime marketing director Richard Myers said: “At Meantime we are always looking to push the boundaries of modern craft by bringing new and exciting beers to drinkers. It was our founding mission and one we follow with each of the beers we brew. Using these exciting hop varieties has enabled us to create something special that we know drinkers will really love.”
Available on draught from selected Mitchells & Butlers outlets from this month, Delta Bravo is the second in a series of four collaborative beers that Meantime and Mitchells and Butlers will release this year. The first collaboration was Cross Copper Lager and the final two will be available later this year.
