In Denmark, food logistics provider Nagel Group has taken over the warehouse management, order picking and transport and distribution of confectionery company DK-Konfekture.
Nagel Danmark commenced operational implementation earlier this year, with 23,000 pallets being processed every year at the company’s headquarters in Padborg. Around 3,000 square metres of warehousing space will be used, it said.
As Nagel Danmark CEO Kim Gravesen explained, the company’s “remit also includes packing and co-packing”. The confectionery is registered at inbound goods, repacked onto quarter or full pallets for different customers depending on the campaign, film wrapped and labelled appropriately before distribution.
DK-Konfekture founder and managing director Dan Kongstedt said: “The product experience and expertise in the sector resulting from Nagel’s existing cooperation with Ritter Sport and other confectionery manufacturers were decisive in the awarding of the contract. Moreover, the company was able to arrange a dedicated warehouse exclusively for confectionery at short notice in accordance with our guidelines.
“Our customers are very pleased with the on schedule delivery. Everything is working smoothly.”
